This whole backup and/or export thing is confusing to me. I really like this Access Manager II and use it alot. What I want to do is have it stored in a removable media so I can install it in case of a crash or move to new machine. I am adding new passwords all the time and want to frequently be able ot keep these stored in the removable media. My question is as follows:If I do the "Backup" found under the File button, is that all that I need to do to have everything saved to meet the need (passwords, program application, etc.) that I stated above? When I click the "Backup" under File I am given two options of 'Files to backup' which are: C:\.......\AccessManager.config >>or: C:\.........AccessManager.xdb >>Which is the file that I am to Backup?? Next concering export: When I click the 'Export' under File I am given two choices which are CSV or XML files. I don't understand this at all, would you be able and willing to explain this in "for Dummies" langauge for me. I just feel that I need to get a grip on this so I can keep a reliable file on the removable media. Thank you very much. Lazysparky Confused

All you need to do is to keep a backup copy of the AccessManager.xdb file. This file contains all your password information.

At any time your can download and install Access Manager on to another PC and then copy the AccessManager.xdb file to the new installation folder. That's it.

The two export options are just different file types. They are both global standards and work equally well. The xml option is a newer format.

I hope this helps.

That sounds simple enough and answers my question. I assume that as I backup to the same location that it will overwrite the old file with the new added or removed passwords? Correct??

Sorry, but it doesn't work for me! I did a new installation, copied the AccessManager.xdb file to the new installation folder, open the program, write my master password and I get a blank database Sad

I'm running WinVista

The backup of AccessManager.xdb does not work correctly in Vista.
