|
|
After launching AccessManagerPro (purchased yesterday) and typing in the password I get this error message comming up:-
*****************************************************
The following error has occured:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Error Type: System.NullReferenceException
Error Location: AccessManager - Int32 8536ce6d71e80ca0(System.String, System.String)
******************************************************
After I go ok to this I then get another error message that is pasted below. These all came about after I deleted a user. Prior to this everything was running OK had just copied all information across from Access Manager 1.36.360 Freeware edition (bit of a pain having to manually copy everything across, seems there's no export function unless I'm missing something).
Any help would be appreciated - I really don't want to uninstall-reinstall and enter all the data again if I can avoid it.
*******************************************************
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
*********************************************************
Before anyone asks, I did delete the config file and tried again. |

I'm not sure what is causing this error but the message suggests that there are no passwords to display for the current user.
I suggest that you re-install everything and use the AM 1.3 export and the AM 2.0 import features. Try the following:
1. Uninstall AM 2
2. Delete the AM 2 installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\Citi-Software\Access Manager 2). Keep a backup copy of your password file (AccessManager.xdb) but do not restore it.
3. Re-install AM2
4. Re-enter your Professional Edition Product Key.
5. Import your passwords from AM 1.3 by following the instructions in the FAQ at www.AccessManager.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=321
I hope this helps. |

Mmmm if you aren't then I'm not either That being said I have done as suggested (installed the later Access Manager and had export) and uninstalled and deleted all traces of Access Manager Pro (didn't keep a copy of the xdb file - only had aroun 70 entries). It's now working so the first thing I did after importing and tidying up a bit was to make a backup so that if it happens again I can restore after reinstall. |
